Painful Periods
The uterus sheds its lining every month in a process commonly referred to as menstruation or menstrual period. While feeling a minimal level of discomfort before or during your menstruation is normal, excessive or gruesome pain is abnormal. You don’t have to live with this!

We don’t always know exactly what causes dysmenorrhea but some things that may contribute are:
Home treatments for painful periods may include massaging the abdomen, taking warm baths, regularly exercising, trying relaxation techniques, vitamins and supplements, heating pads, and anti-inflammatories (ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, aspirin).
